Iterative Design Process

Focus Group Workshops

Classroom Testing

From the beginning of the project the SILVER team has employed an iterative design and development process, engaging with end users at every stage of development process. The aim has been to design, then re-design SILVER prototypes based on user feedback.

Our methods involve both focus group sessions, in which we engage with teachers, and classroom testing sessions, for which we observe both teachers and students working with the software in the classroom.

We have been very fortunate to have worked with a wonderful team of teachers, some of whom invited us to their classrooms to test the software with students.

If you are interested in testing our 3rd and final prototype (leadership) please contact our interactive producer Kalliopi Vacharopoulou at the following email address

SILVER focus groups workshops involve engaging with experts (mostly teachers) in the areas covered in each of the 3 SILVER prototypes. A typical session is 3 hours in duration and includes both task specific activities (usually on paper) and open dialogue between focus group participants and the SILVER team

Most of the SILVER focus group sessions are filmed for further analysis after the event. Focus group participants also have the opportunity to offer continuous feedback and advice on the SILVER blog.

The SILVER team would like to thank all those who participated in SILVER focus group sessions over the past 3 years.

Classroom testing takes place once a SILVER prototype is developed to a level where it can be presented to a class of students within their school environment.

All SILVER classroom testing sessions are filmed for further analysis by the SILVER team.

Prototype 3 explores the subject of 'Leadership' and is aimed at the business and training sector. In place of classroom testing we will present prototype 3 online for testing by a larger audience of professionals. A URL linking to prototype 3 will be posted on this website in late March. Your participation in this online software testing process is most welcome and all feedback should be posted to the SILVER blog.
